Hey devs! ๐Ÿ’ป

We recently benchmarked a high-throughput websocket notification service written in Bun vs Node.js 22 LTS on Ubuntu 24.04.

  • Bun: 3.5x faster cold starts, 40% less memory footprint on 10,000 active websocket connections.
  • Node 22: Better compatibility with legacy native C++ addons.

Has anyone deployed Bun in production for mission-critical APIs? How is long-term stability and garbage collection behaving?

We've been running Bun in Docker for our realtime event streamer for 4 months now. Memory stays rock solid under 85MB per container. Highly recommended for I/O bound services! ๐Ÿš€

The native SQLite and TypeScript execution in Bun is a joy to work with during development too. Zero build step required! โœจ
